It's safe to say A.S.E's Christian Doyen resides in that place. A place where he's learned the rules just to forget them. The music truly reflects Christian's experiences in the U.S, Europe and Africa. Having received glowing reviews for his run on Sahara records, A.S.E is turning all efforts to his first album due out winter 2004.

Bongo by AFRICANDO's SOUND ENVELOPE on Odara Productions: Produced and performed by Africando's Sound Envelope this song is pure funk class. There are 4 mixes to choose from but the standouts for me are 1st. the A.S.E Original mix, this mix is pure pleasure to my ears with its great guitar, keyboards, bass, flute and horns without drums and the 2nd mix is DJ Taha's Essence Mix. This mix is straight up club very minimalist. Signed to Washington D.C.'s Odara Productions label I don't know if these guys are a real band but if they are I'd love to see them live.

Real quality afro-funk from ASE. Pure afro-funk with mucho moog and eclectic keyboards, raw jazzy sax work. T-Kolai mix is a lush spiritual mix, with keen piano stabs and pretty strings.

Having been the standout track on Sahara's WMC sampler, "Bongo" from A S E (African Sound Envelope) finally gets a full airing. It's smooth afro-funk all the way on "Bongo" with a blend of Hammond, horns, bongos, and guitar laid over the top of a funky-as-hell bassline.

Wonderful Life is Sahara's second release and what a great record it is! With vocals sung by Mustafa , this is a really good deep house record with all the right ingredients, lush instrumentation with piano, percussion and organ and fine vocals with a positive message
